In his statement, Rono said Navarro was tied up and attacked by a group of men when he visited a female friend at her condominium unit in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig last Wednesday.
The film director said that while Navarro is now recovering, he may undergo an operation due to the injuries he sustained. The comedian, according to Rono, is also unable to talk properly following the attack.
“It’s Showtime,” which Navarro has co-hosted since 2009, carried on with its regular programming on Thursday and Friday, without mention from co-hosts of including Vice Ganda of the comedian’s condition.
According to Rono, Navarro will temporarily not be seen on the noontime program and his other television projects as he continues to recover.
